We are monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic closely, following guidelines set forth by the CDC and American Dental Association (ADA). At the current time, we are under Executive Order by Governor Abbott to remain closed for all dental treatment aside from dental emergencies until April 22, 2020. However, the ADA has recommended dental office closure through April 30, 2020 to help continue prevention of Coronavirus transmission. We will continue to update our patients as more information becomes available.
Please know that we are available to address any pain-related concerns and will screen all patients for everyone’s safety. We will have limited in-office hours but will be returning voicemails as quickly as we can, and the on-call phone number is on the voicemail for any emergencies.
As a patient, you have the right to a safe environment. Dr. Kimes and your Sage Dentistry team have always met or exceeded all sterilization and infection control protocols, and updated procedures are being developed to specifically address COVID-19 precautions. We appreciate you doing your part by rescheduling your appointments if you show signs of respiratory illness that may be related to Coronavirus, have been in direct contact with a COVID-19 positive patient, or have traveled within 14 days of your appointment. We encourage you to continue to follow social distancing and help us prevent the spread of this novel virus.
At Sage Dentistry, there is no higher priority to our team than the safety of our patients and families. When visiting our office, we want you to feel confident that all health and safety measures are taken to prevent transmission of all disease, including Coronavirus.
On Monday, April 20th, the Texas State Dental Board clarified the most recent Executive Order issued by Governor Abbott, and unless an unexpected downturn in the management of the coronavirus outbreak occurs, we will officially reopen the office Monday, May 11, 2020.
The safety of our patients, our team, and our families remains our highest priority. Please know that we have spent the past several weeks educating ourselves on how to best protect you and minimize the risk of spreading any infectious disease, including coronavirus. While our office has always performed exceptional infection control procedures, you will notice additional protocols, including screening our team and all patients for symptoms of respiratory illness, medical grade air purifiers throughout the office, increased use of disposable instruments, pre-procedure disinfecting mouthrinse, and enhanced PPE by our team.
All patients with existing appointments through Thursday, May 7th have received messages that their appointments have been canceled. We appreciate your patience as we contact each of you to reschedule. We assure you we are doing our best to be efficient and respectful of your schedules.
To help protect our team and other patients, we kindly ask you to reschedule any upcoming appointment if you are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness, have been in contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19, or have traveled internationally or to a high-risk area in the last 14 days.
Until May 11th, we will continue to be available for emergency appointments. We check the office voice mailbox often during business hours, and the on-call phone number is provided on the voice message to reach Dr. Kimes in case of emergency.
