Porcelain Veneers

At Sage Dentistry, we want you to have a beautiful smile that you are proud to share. Dr. Kimes uses porcelain veneers to enhance and repair your smile. Porcelain Veneers are very thin restorations that can help correct discolored, chipped, or misshaped teeth. They look and feel like natural teeth, and with proper care can last many years.

If you are considering porcelain veneers, Dr. Kimes will discuss your concerns and present a plan that meets your particular needs. Often times this involves creating a “mock-up” of your future smile that will allow you visualize what to expect. At your treatment visit, your doctor will carefully remove a thin layer of your enamel to provide room for the porcelain veneer. This conservative removal of tooth structure prevents the veneers from appearing bulky and unnatural, and it helps maintain the health of the surrounding gums. Impressions and photos are taken of your teeth and sent to our ceramist to fabricate your veneer, and temporary veneers will be placed on your teeth. The temporary veneers are an important step in the process because they allow you to evaluate the look, feel, and function of your proposed veneers. We will schedule time to meet with you and discuss any concerns or changes before approving the design of your final restorations. When your veneers are returned from our ceramist, your doctor will remove the temporary veneers and try in your veneers to make sure they fit well and look beautiful. She will then prepare both your teeth and the porcelain with dental adhesive so that the veneers can bond strongly to your teeth. Once all of the veneers have been placed, you will have a bright and gorgeous new smile.

Porcelain Veneers look like natural teeth and offer the opportunity to change the appearance of your smile. Porcelain has the beautiful translucent quality of natural teeth, and veneers can give you a bright healthy smile that can last for many years.
